August 2015

A couple of visits to BBV/retirement village. I continue to mentor the vision impaired man and we are at the final stages - we had a boy read to Lily and his dog one day and then Lily stayed home and his dog and he did the entire session. He will hopefully start at the school this fall.

July 2015

One visit to the retirement village by Jill and her last visit as I have to retire her from visiting due to unpredictable pooping....  I remember as Rissa aged - this became an issue and I had to halt her visits as I couldn't have her pooping while visiting someone - this is becoming the same issue with Jill. I also found a tumor which was checked and is a connective tissue cancer. If removed will come back...

June 2015

May 4th - UMO

Emmie got to hit the college scene at UMO today for campus comfort canine visits at the Folger library. The program to bring in dogs a few times during finals week is a huge hit with the kids. Em gave lots of hugs and kisses along with the other 2 dogs - May-Bee and Tanzey.

May 2nd

You couldn't tell from this photo- but these are two are fun loving life ladies that Jill visits.

A fun day doing READer dog on Swan's Island. Jill and Lily did great on the ferry and with the kids. Robyn went with me to help.

March 14th

Lily hit the retirement village with me today. Our retired nurse friend Julu lives there now and she likes to walk around and visit with us. The dogs are very gentle and the residents look forward to our visits.

March 12th

Trenton Elementary School asked us to come do some READer dog for the K, 1 and 2 classes. I took Jill and Lily along with Robyn. The kids were very sweet and loved the dogs.

March 10

I was contacted by these 3 Bucksport Middle School girls to do a READer dog program for their special ed class. These girls had to do a school project that would enrich someone's life - they decided to bring my dogs into the special ed class. Lily and Jill went with me and Robyn came along to help. It was very successful and a fun different event for us.

FEB

Vision impaired

Helping a vision impaired man get his TD Inc certification so he can do READer dog at the SWH library. Driving him to Cortland Living Center and leading him to the patients as he has to take his dog out of his guide dog harness for visits. Will is a 3 year old black lab - he loved Jill and Lily (I took them on the visits too)
